Petali di Luce Embroidered Sheer Babydoll

This piece should be treated very differently from the bra-and-brief sets because its beauty comes from movement and softness rather than structure.
The first thing a customer sees is the contrast between the delicate floral bodice and the almost weightless white skirt beneath it. From the front, the silhouette begins quite close to the body through the bust and waist, then opens into a translucent floating skirt.
That change in proportion is what gives the babydoll its romantic character.
The embroidered bodice is the focal point
The upper section is formed from very fine transparent mesh decorated with clusters of pink floral embroidery and muted green botanical details.
Rather than covering the entire bodice, the flowers appear selectively placed along the cups and centre of the body. The surrounding transparency lets each little blossom stand apart.
The embroidery itself appears intentionally delicate rather than oversized.
Small flowers in several shades of pink create depth, while the green stems prevent the design from becoming one-dimensional or overly sugary.
Against the nearly invisible foundation, the effect is almost as though small blossoms have been scattered directly over the body.
The plunging neckline creates the architecture
The neckline is particularly important.
Two embroidered panels rise from a very deep centre plunge, creating a long V through the upper body.
Visually, that does several things at once:
- draws the eye vertically;

- gives the delicate florals a stronger framework;
- prevents the soft white design from feeling shapeless.
Slim pale straps continue upward without distracting from the embroidery.
The effect is feminine, but much cleaner than a heavily ruffled babydoll.
The centre bodice gives it shape
The floral mesh continues beneath the bust into the centre torso rather than ending immediately below the cups.
That creates a lightly corset-inspired suggestion without actually making the piece look like a corset.
There are areas of transparent mesh between the floral embroidery, allowing the waist to remain visible beneath the fabric.
This is important because otherwise the volume of the skirt could overwhelm the figure.
Instead, the fitted upper section establishes the body's shape before the skirt begins.
The skirt is where the softness appears
Below the fitted bodice, the design changes completely.
A very fine white translucent skirt falls loosely from the waist and moves away from the body.
There does not appear to be heavy gathering, thick lace or complicated ornamentation through this section. That restraint works beautifully because the embroidered bodice already carries the detail.
The skirt provides:
lightness, movement and contrast.
From the rear, the short flared silhouette creates a soft floating effect rather than sitting closely against the body.
It is the kind of garment that will look better in motion than lying flat because the skirt is an important part of the experience.
